Turks Head (11B9L)

This is a 11B 9L Turks Head I put on one of my wife's vases.  I started the knot using a Turks Head Tool I ordered from knottool.com.  The tool I have came with the Original Turks Head Kit  I then tripled the knot by doing 2 more passes.  I think it turned out pretty good.  It was not originally intended for the vase, but I didn't know what to do with the knot once it was done, and the vase looked like a good victim.

Ocean Plat

Here is an Ocean Plat flat knot that I made out of 15ft of paracord.  I followed the directions on Pg. 116 in The Book Of Decorative Knots by Peter Owen.  Just like the carrick mat, it was a little confusing until you get the basic shape made.  One you have doubled it, the knot takes a more solid form and it is a breeze from there.  I took a couple pictures, one with my fathers day present from my kids for a size reference.  To finish I melted the ends and fused them to the underside of the mat.

Paracord Lanyard

I made this lanyard for my wife's ID badge at work.  I got the idea from Stormdrane's Blog on how to make a gaucho knot paracord lanyard.  Here is his video on how to tie gaucho knot.  Here is the link on how to make the gaucho beads.  For the center of the beads I found some metal sleeves at the local hardware store.  They are 5mm x 10mm.  I also picked up some 6mm x 10mm that work good too, just a little bigger of a bead.  I put some fake nail glue on the sleeves to keep the knots in place, and also coated the knots with the same stuff.  Seemed to work pretty good.  I used this site for the wall sinnet.  The safety breakaway was purchased off Ebay.

Paracord Carrick Mat

Here is my first attempt at a Carrick Mat.  I think this will work good for my coffee mug, seems to be the perfect size. I followed the tutorials here Part 1 Part 2 Part 3.  The author does a great job explaining how to make it.  The beginning is a little confusing, but once you get the basic shape made it is no problem.  I tried some spray adhesive on the back once I was done, but it didn't seem to work very good.  It didn't seem to dry and it smells bad.  Next time around I am just going to leave it alone.
